If Roe v. Wade is overturned and more states enforce "trigger" laws severely weakening abortion access or banning it, Chicago's mayor said the city would “be a safe haven.”

The mayor didn’t use that phrase—it’s the Washington Post headline so blame them!
This is not a great framing. "Oasis for abortions" is the wrong tone. Lots of people support abortion access but still subscribe to the "safe, legal, rare" idea and kind of bristle at a lot of the shout-your-abortion rhetoric that makes it seem like you went to a day spa for a fetal scrub.
Democrats nationwide need to get better at talking about abortion in ways that can marshall support from independents and moderate Republicans.

Maybe we should rebuild the oases over the tollways and put abortion clinics in them for those just driving through.
What terrible phrasing. I'm prochoice but "an oasis for abortion" sounds like a mass grave of fetuses. Great visuals for the city though. She should maybe even think about a billboard campaign...
Yesterday I fantasized about funding a Abortion-Plex (Onion headline from years ago) on the Indiana border with an entrance right on the interstate.
I have zero disposable income, no background in construction, and no background in healthcare- so I’m as well qualified as most conservative males are on this issue
