The former Chicago mayor has been taking public transit on official trips, winning over local rail fans with his enthusiasm for trains.

i saw rahm waiting for the brown line once during a delay. he was wearing an all over print dragon ball z shirt and lamenting himself about how "the trains are so much better in asia". then he called me a gaijin and left

You guys think it would be fun to be an ambassador to a cool country? I wonder what he actually has to do as ambassador to Japan?

I moved to the city when he was running for Mayor and a man stopped me at the Addison Brown line and said "Hello, I'm Rahm and I'm running for mayor" and went to shake my hand.

I said "Cool, I'm running late" and walked passed him. It was until about 10 minutes later I realized who it was.

This story makes me chuckle because the one time I met Rahm, it was under the California Blue line station.

Wow, a politician who loved trains. Imagine if he was still our mayor, no way the CTA would be in the shape it is now. But activists cried about him releasing a video too late so now we got Lori “car city/planet reality” Lightfoot lmao.

Rahm Emanuel comes back to Chicago to become the mayor in 2027. He didn't even run for mayor but wins by everyone writing in his name.

Dude's an absolute foamer. I hear if you bring up Laquan McDonald in any capacity he'll immediately start ranting about EMD units and that time he got to ride in a North Shore Electroliner through the Loop

I used to see him on the brown line all the time. He was always gracious to people.

I saw him on the Brown Line one morning about 6 years ago. Seven? I dunno. He was drinking coffee and reading a newspaper. He had a big dude with him I assume was his bodyguard. I didn't say anything to either of them.
