TLDR: Neither candidate is proposing more charters since the existing charter have a bunch of empty seats. Vallas wants to launch specialized magnet programs, such as International Baccalaureate and STEM, housed within traditional neighborhood schools. Johnson wants to increase funding for underutilized and smaller schools.
Neither really has any plan for the decreased enrollment.
