This is a freshman alder, not even 2.5 years in. Jimmy is thin-skinned, has issues with women and is corrupt. But let’s not forget he’s also an incompetent boob.

Shocking that the guy who got elected into office by a lot of the same people who voted for a disgusting scumbag like John Catanzara to be their union president also turns out to be an enormous piece of shit.

A few months before COVID hit, I was talking with someone in-the-know about new developments in the 45th ward, and if Gardiner was making any progress on his campaign promise of bringing more development to the ward. They told me things were moving extremely slowly because Gardiner insisted on handling them one at a time, so there was a massive backlog. At the time, I just assumed he didn't understand you gotta have multiple irons in the fire since statistically they're likely to fall through for a number of reasons: lack of financing, zoning issues, unable to gain franchise rights, poor feasibility, etc.

But it seems like the real reason was he was shaking them down one at a time? There was also something suspicious that happened: Gardiner voted on zoning changes for a an out-of-state developer with no prior history of any political donations, then whomp they gave him a huge chunk of cash as their first ever donation.... wonder if that was an FBI sting operation?
