Federal prosecutors charge alleged gang members with killing off-duty LAPD officer
Federal prosecutors charged four people with killing Officer Fernando Arroyos as a violent crime in aid of racketeering for the Florencia 13 gang.
This is just the beginning. Feds are gonna bring the hammer down on Florencia 13.
This is actually pretty big news. Florencia is a really big gang and going against the LAPD is really bad for them
I heard they arrested a guy in the tacobell murders too.
He also said that Cisneros handed him Arroyos’ wallet and that he threw it away in the aftermath after taking $100.
They killed him for a chain and $100. What pieces of shit.
Bring the death penalty.
Glad they got them. Good call on the sheriff having the feds prosecute it instead of the LADA office.
Gang members are a bunch of big babies, trying to act tough and doing society no good.
LA County DA George Gascon disbanded the city’s gang unit last year. Prosecutors in his office have stated that he found the unit offensive.
Been in LA all my life and I really don't know how we still got gang members in 2022 like bruh imagine getting banged on by some foo while you're trying to go get that Hot n Rdy Lil Ceasars
It's a shame these scumbags are going to waste taxpayers money with a trial. Hopefully after this LAPD can get some good Intel and go on Florencia 13 hunting expedition.
There is a live joint press conference between the FBI, LAPD, and LASD happening right now. Link: https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/federal-charges-filed-against-alleged-gang-members-accused-of-killing-off-duty-lapd-officer/2797148/
So the 18-year-old girlfriend who sat in the passenger seat is doing all the talking right now. I’ll be interested to see if her cooperation will get her out of this slightly or if she’ll end up with the same sentences as the rest of ‘em.
That is indeed very unusual for Federal charges to be brought for homicide. Typically it is a State issue like OJ Simpson.
Unfortunate the LA DA's office has become an ineffective mechanism now.
Tragic story all around. Most places are paying $15-$20/hr like a grocery store or fast food. Instead they killed this person over $100.....
So this gang's been terrorizing people, and it took some random robbery which just happened to be a cop to actually get this gang wiped out? There's a bit of preferential treatment here, so if no cops died it would've been same ole same ole. A cop dies, hey let's actually do our jobs!!!
I'm glad this is happening, but would it still have happened had no LAPD officer died?
Does anyone know where we can find the actual complaint? I’m only finding the press release with info from the DOJ website. Some of these releases have a pdf attached of the corresponding complaint, but this one doesn’t.
I am surprised these dudes stayed around having rifled thru his wallet, if there were any indication he was a cop in there or if he said so. Given that they’re never getting out of prison and would be lucky to live long enough to make it to trial, these dudes should have fled the country immediately.
