it simply makes sense. I have nothing against a transgender but the competition is simply not even if competing against women. It's a very complicated situation but it's something we'll be dealing with in the near future in other sports

I don鈥檛 believe FINA is alone in this. Many feel this way but it isn鈥檛 a popular position in today鈥檚 world.

Nothing against transgender, you have my respect but I am a women who plays softball with other women. I have seen the advantage transgender have on the field. We get hurt. How about playing coed leagues instead? IDK but this is the right first step. 馃憤

So happy to read this but it should be ruled based on what you were born as.

Shame it took so long. Hopefully it opens the door for other sports to follow.

Caster Semenya was not allowed to compete because she naturally has a higher testosterone level. Why was this swimmer allowed?

It's no mystery why boys and girls sports were divided. There were two clear sets of world record performance numbers. It was genetically accurate to hold that a coed mix would always assure biological boys that gender's tendency toward advantage over [un-enhanced] females. 1/鈥2

Great news, just need all the other sports to follow suit. The meaning of competitive sport is competitive not, one sided.

I think that this is fair and reasonable and logical. They should have their own division because of the hormonal differences and development. It is a fluid (haha) situation and we can figure it out as we learn more. Right?

This is good new. Women are not at a disadvantage. Transgender still get to compete in the OPEN category. Everyone wins!

They said they must transition, or I took as on hormone therapy, by age 12 or when testosterone kicks in. No one fully transitions at that age. This is why transgender health care is important from an early age so it鈥檚 less after the fact.

"It's what the scientists are saying, that if you transition after the start of puberty, you have an advantage, which is unfair," James Pearce, spokesperson for FINA president Husain Al-Musallam

CC: @POTUS & the entire Dem party for pretending science/鈥媗ogic = hate!

good, just make a special Olympics for Trans men or women whatever they identify. nothing against them but fair is fair. don't see any women that convert to male complaining they can't compete against men. so don't want any men Trans to women complaining
