Biden calls on Nury Martinez, other L.A. councilmembers to resign after audio leak

One day they’re smugly gerrymandering away their fellow councilwoman’s voter base, the next they have the President of the United States coming down on them. Oh how the mighty fall.

There's absolutely no way that Nury Martinez, Kevin De Leon, and Gill Cedillo can try to hide and keep their seats at this point. If they don't resign, they'll not only continue to lose what dignity they have left but they'll also likely be recalled. The entire Los Angeles, California, and Democratic Party political structure (all the way up to POTUS!) has turned against them.

I hate the (imo) recent overuse of recalls in California, but to me this seems like the exact situation that the recall mechanism was designed for: to remove elected officials after a major ethics breach.

Their reputations are in the gutter and now even the White House is going against them.

Like there's nothing to gain from clinging to power now so why even try?

Really did not expect these local matters to hit federal ears. Wow.
