Two passengers in that car were pronounced dead at the scene, while the wrong-way driver suffered serious injuries.

Fucking always.

/u/bananabrownie et al,

This was sadly but one of many heart-breaking traffic collisions believed caused by impaired drivers - handled by your LAFD and allied agencies overnight, while the City slept.

LAFD's effort to free those trapped in the wreckage, treat and swiftly transport the survivors to trauma centers (working harder than I can begin to describe in the back of a moving ambulance against a ticking clock), -and- assist in the discreet and dignified removal of the deceased, was far from their only task. Despite their non-stop 90+ minute of multifaceted on-scene activity beginning at 4:30 AM, your LAFD Firefighter/Paramedics would not be done until they helped complete the single most difficult and dreaded task:

Please don't drive impaired, or allow others to. If you know or see an impaired driver, report them to 9-1-1 immediately - before they become the focus of a door knock.

Respectfully Yours in Safety and Service,

Brian Humphrey Firefighter/Specialist Public Service Officer Los Angeles Fire Department

People drinking and driving is why we can't have nice things...they could have just called a Uber and none of this would have happened.

Who was the asshat in here the other day bitching about DUI checkpoints? This is what happens when drunk drivers are let loose on our roads.

To wrong way drive on a freeway just feels to me like you need to be loaded. What an absolute asshole.

I wish anyone that drinks and drives gets a DUI and jailed and has to pay everything for their stupidity

I feel like we get one of these stories per week.

I thought this was referencing the accident last night on the 118 at De Soto that stopped all lanes of traffic. No idea another happened just a couple hours later.

Perhaps I missed this, but WHY can't they install spikes towards the end of off ramps? What I'm referring to are the spikes when you leave a parking lot, and if you reverse, your tires are blown. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
