Daunte Wright’s parents ‘can’t accept’ officer killed their son by ‘mistake’
Katie and Aubrey Wright remember their son as "an amazing, loving kid" in first interview since he was fatally shot by police officer Kim Potter.
Officer potter wrote in her resignation letter that she has enjoyed every minute of her 26 years on the force. What in the entire hell!! She’s leaving because she killed an unarmed man. Did she enjoy that day too?
People are really saying that because Daunte had a warrant for his arrest that it’s okay he was killed. I forgot people would rather bypass the justice system and go straight to the execution part. It seriously confuses me that some people are that stupid.
Big hearts don’t carry illegal weapons, resist arrest for outstanding warrants stemming from attempted aggravated robbery.
Hey look world. Another my baby ain’t never hurt nobody moment. The shooting was wrong. He also however shouldn’t have resisted arrest and forced a cops hand in any direction.
As they should! There is zero chance that she mistook the gun for her taser.
She either had poor trigger discipline and negligently discharging the gun, or she was pissed off because he ran, and just shot him.
“It’s taken me 26 years but I’m soooo close to being able to differentiate between a gun and a taser. My bad” is essentially what they’re saying. Lying sack of shit.
Here is a narrative.... Don’t Resist Law Enforcement. If you follow the rules don’t fight cops, you won’t put them in horrible situations where they have to make life or death decisions
What is justice for a family whose son has been murdered by a 26 year veteran? I am outraged and she should spend the remainder of her life in prison!!
Yeah that's why at 20 he had an illegal pistol and ran from police before and got a warrant out because he was so nice and had such a big heart. Get the fuck outta here.
Lost in all of this seems to be the fact that the kid had a warrant out for his arrest, and he tried to flee the scene by jumping in the car and taking off endangering many people's lives. I hate that he was killed. I hate the "accidental" excuse. Dont overlook the whole story.
Did you see this 20 yr olds social media? Holding Guns, weed. Booze!! Outstanding warrant. He was no saint like the media is making him out to be!! Do people seriously think the cop meant to kill him? Comply
I’ll never truly know how they feel. As a mother I can’t imagine the pain they are in, my heart aches for them. I pray that justice is served not only for daunte but for all.
How was it "accidental"? Did the officer intend to shoot a different unarmed person (of color)?
That 26 year veteran on the police force should lose any pension and have murder charges bought against her.
Ummm. Wasn’t his warrant for holding a woman at gun point? Did y’all even check out his FB posts. He was NO angel. He shouldn’t of run
They should have rejected their son having a warrant for illegal gun possession then trying to get away like a moron. Parents are obviously part of the problem.
How’s this for a narrative? Don’t resist cops and try to bounce in a car while detained?
😭 no more senseless killing of black men. I’m so very sorry for their loss and the heartbreak of a someone so young, now gone. 💔
I couldn’t even finish watching after she said she still hasn’t seen her son. The pain. The anger and confusion she must be enduring. My tears are nothing compared to what she must be enduring.
Yea and he loved waiving around a illegal weapon and resisting arrest
I understand she’s upset but there’s literally video of it. It was clearly a mistake
Murder by mistake? Sounds like a excuse by a raunchy grade school bully for why he spit on a girl.
Guess they didn’t teach him between right and wrong. Cop should be fired for what happened.
Daunte Wright accused of choking and robbing woman at gunpoint, had arrest warrant
Not by my definition
Not defending the cop but the kid seemed far from an angel. Outstanding warrant, illegal possession of a handgun, resisting arrest (due to the warrant). What happend was tragic but he shouldnt have resisted either. Fight the system after the arrest.
Have you idiots even watched the fucking video? She literally yells “im gonna taze you” “taser taser taser” it was her gun, she shot 1 time, stopped realized and said “omg I shot him” it’s on fucking video. She resigned the chief resigned. The mistake is clear as day. Not racism.
No mention of the April arrest warrant - attached - for having a non-permitted gun, and for fleeing police?
Hey parents - you should have taught you son to follow the officers instructions and to not resist arrest and not to flee w/ police officers halfway in his car.
Kills someone who was not even threatening her life, then decides, oh fuck it, I’m just gonna retire. Bye!
Only in the USA will they arrest someone for killing a dog before they arrest someone for killing a Black Man.
He also robbed a girl for her rent money at gunpoint in December 2019.
He was a grown ass man who didn't respect authority and resisted arrest, he had a warrant out for him for criminal breaking and entering and he waves a gun around on his videos and does drugs! He had been running from the law!
Of course it was an accident, why do people think she would deliberately shoot a man and put herself through all this??? Gross negligence and she should be charged for that but NOT intentional.
