Been on the boat, no way you can accidentally fall off. The dude was either trying a parkour jump, or was suicidal. I feel worse for the other passengers that will have this haunt them for life...

So sad, but at least his family has closure. I think many people lost in the ocean are never recovered.

I’m very curious how he fell off the boat. Was there foul play involved? Alcohol? What a strange situation. RIP.

I'm going to Catalina in July and this story inspired me to go nowhere near the railing on the ferry over.

Having taken the Catalina Express several times, it would take a lot to get thrown off 'accidentally'. On very very rough ride to Catalina a few years ago , where more than half the crowd were puking their brains off at the back of the boat, there were no accidents. There were many seasick people huddled over, white knuckling of seats but thankfully no accidents.

Good. His family were in such deep denial. At least now they won't be thinking everyone is their relative from the back.

Is it the same guy? Seems wierd the current would somehow bring him back. He fell off a couple miles out from the breakwater.
