They parked. They shopped. They got towed: Anger and frustration at a Montreal strip mall

Over the course of two days last week at a shopping plaza in Montreal's Saint-Laurent borough, CBC watched as a tow-truck operator removed vehicle after vehicle. "This is not normal," said Pierre Abraham Mulamba, who was charged $116 for a towing after he briefly left the plaza property.

Protip ~~pas éthique~~ :
- laisse un AirTag dans ton auto
- stationnes toi à la plaza
- fais toi remorquer

There is a pharmaprix, a Provigo and some other stores there that, I am sure, will be delighted to know they are associated with this scheme.
Personally I have never and, now that I know of this, will never ever set foot in any of these stores.

same thing happened to me many years ago. I had a receipt from the pharmaprix and then went to the kfc across the street. came back after eating and car was gone. Had to call the phone number on the signs and a shady broken car pulled up and asked me to pay 90$ on their credit card machine and my car is at a "secure location". the secure location was 4 blocks away parked on street. still salty over that, the manager at the pharmaprix took 0 responsibility and said it's the mall that manages parking. mall management never answered their phones or emails. I never shopped in that mall ever again

I know someone whose student job was working here, watching the parking lot at all times for cases like this. This location in particular is verrrryyy vigilant.

I work at Douglas hospital, I didn't pay for parking once and got my car towed all the way to a residential neighbourhood 20 minutes away. Had to pay right away on the phone and missed my class because there was no operator to tell me where my car was. Ended up calling their office in Quebec city so they could give me the number of the tow truck company so that they could tell me where my car was.
