A new report says Montreal, Windsor and Hamilton top the list of cities in Canada with the worst air quality.

I noticed this when I moved to Montreal from Vancouver but now the air gets bad there sometimes because of forest fires. Air quality is good here compared to major cities around the world though, something I noticed when I started checking the air quality in major European cities like London and Paris.
Some of it is likely from burning wood but I’ll bet a lot is caused by traffic because it wasn’t just quieter when the curfew was on, the air seemed fresher when I walked the dog.

So are they saying montrealers have the same risk of suffering lung cancer that somebody that lives in a pristine environment and smokes 1 cigarette every 3 days?
Also, what is the health impact of smoking 1 cigarette every 3 days?
Ok… The company that did the evaluations is called “housefresh” and seems to sell air purifiers. I’d be interested to know where on the island they took the samples and what their methodology was. Maybe they took readings right next to the decarie and also on the 720 during rush hour. We don’t know. Also I’d love to know if they’re planning on doing a marketing blitz in the GMA to peddle their product.
