MTA gets $6B grant, largest lump sum in Federal Transit Administration's history
The MTA will receive a $6 billion lump sum grant for the subway system, the largest ever awarded in the Federal Transit Administration's history.
this money will be gone in the next few months and then the mta will beg for more money
MTA Chairman: "I'd like to thank the Government for this generous five billion dollar grant."
Reporter: "Five? Aren't you missing one billion?"
MTA Chairman: "Thank you for the correction. One billion dollar grant."
Getting more money without addressing the underlying cost issues due to horrible contracts and managers / government that perpetuates fraud is a foolish thing. I've even got a clip I sent a local of a local MTA contractor shouting slurs when working and the MTA inspector General never responded except saying they saw the video and would not create a case.
Money will be dumped down the drain in no time flat. Stolen overtime and sweetheart deals for worthless LCD screens.
Sources tell me that Adams has put his brothers best friends uncle from middle school in charge of disbursement.
Thats amazing for all the fat cats of the mta. They get 5.75 billion dollar raise while the public gets .25 billion in artwork for the trains
Here comes some juicy overtime for the higher ups. These fucks give labor unions a bad rep.
Great! The combined net worth of the MTA management is going to increase by $5.5 billion this year
Thank goodness! The subway is the circulatory system for the city, like it or hate it! I happen to prioritize commuting via bike, but will always take a train or bus over a private car!
they are going to use the money to it's full potential by adding one more chair on some arbitrary train station
Money that will totally not end up down the corrupt MTA and MTA Union rat hole I'm sure! At the rate they spend, it will cover the cost of 100 feet of track.
MTA workers about to PlayStation 5 for a few more hours now.
All going to the CEO, Union Boss and executive at the round table
And people are still going to blame fair hoppers as the reason why the MTA is broke lol
watch all that money go straight to the execs pockets and the overtime scam those mta worker do.
Will there be transparency in regards to where all that money will be going?
