Make it a felony to assault delivery food workers - same as assaulting a postal worker.
They will cry racism when food delivery workers stop going to certain neighborhoods.
As a 6ft+ 200lb Chinese-American living in NYC, my mother still calls me almost everyday to tell me to avoid black people at night and even cross the street or take the next subway cart. It’s not hate, it’s fear because Asian lives don’t matter. She told me the worlds not fair and you can’t risk your life because you want it to be. Always run, don’t engage, put ego aside
The workers become victims of society, because society doesn't lock up the criminals.
People are gonna start complaining when they don’t make deliveries to their building anymore. It’s a shame that everyone has to get their cardio in for a shrimp roll because there are a few animals around but I don’t think anybody should have any sympathy for the kinds of folks that should be in a cage till everyone they know has forgotten about them.
Delivery drivers should make a list of every building a person gets robbed at and have the right to deny service to that building. See if the neighbors can point out the guy who’s to blame why they can’t get a pizza delivered anymore
This is why gig workers need employment protection. Assuming it's an Uber Eats delivery person, would they receive workman's comp or any type of support from Uber?
It's a billion dollar company that needs to protect its workers.
Attacks on food delivery workers are often, or almost always, gang initiation acts. It is not random violence. They’re anonymous, not from your neighborhood usually, and a sure thing to show up, so an easy victim to ambush. The gang wants you to commit a serious crime so they will always have something on you, in case you try to get out. We’ve known this since the 70’s. Very unfortunate.
He has this much energy to carry out such a crime but yet won't get a job smh
