They don’t have to face consequences of their policies living in safe neighborhoods with security while the rest of us have to look over our shoulders to stay alive. Fuckers

We did it right in NJ.

It applies to all crimes, but there's a public safety exception.

Cash bail is bullshit. Either someone is dangerous and shouldn't get out just because they or a family member/friend can cough up some cash (much less than you'd expect, very few people didn't make bail for all but the worst crimes)... or they're not, in which cash they shouldn't have to sit in jail simply for lack of a few hundred to few thousand dollars.

Why the fuck are so many people hell bent on bringing that back? Like, you don't care if they're dangerous, so long as they're not poor? Money makes you a better person entitled to more rights? Given it's conservatives we're talking about mostly, that's probably it. That's what you're asking for when you demand cash bail... for dangerous lunatics to go free, so long as they're not poor dangerous lunatics.

NY should do it like NJ.

I'm a simple man. I just want to walk to the gym in the morning without being assaulted or flashed by a crazy. Unfortunately, even that seems like too much to ask.

Bail reform is a good thing but why can't there be common sense?

People shouldn't be remanded to Rikers for smoking a blunt or because they had a crack stem in their pocket and they don't have a friend to spot them $50 or $100.

Misdemeanor or A felony with no open cases, release without bail. Most people agree with this idea.

But if you have pending cases and continue to commit crimes, or you are committing violent crimes, bail is a reasonable thing.

Hochul is garbage. Bragg is garbage. If you keep voting for them nothing will change. You’ll be here on Reddit complaining about the same shit.

What a bunch of easy marks.

The one and only reason Adams is blaming “bail reform” for crime rates is that it’s something completely out of his control. He can’t repeal it himself. But he can hold constant press conferences about it, deflecting blame from his own mismanagement of the NYPD, failure to coordinate a strategy with the DAs, and his broader failures to address the primary causes of the crime rate increases.

For Adams, bail reform is the perfect scapegoat. It lets him swagger around while he can avoid blame for the problem while taking credit for any turnaround. And so many here are taking the bait.

I can't see where the problem is if you revoke bail for someone who commits a crime while out on bail. I don't believe bail is necessary today when a GPS bracelet could do a better job. But I also believe people who are incorrigible should be kept in jail and should be tried ASAP.

She’s going to get elected anyway. But can I still do a protest vote?

I’ll probably vote for one of the independents.

This is what happens when you listen to focus groups and polls instead of your own constituency.

Fuck Hochul.
