Justice Leticia M. Ramirez was publicly reprimanded by a state ethics panel for writing to an appeals panel on behalf of her son Michael Tineo in his bid to overturn a 20 years-to-life sentence for fatally shooting a man in a heroin deal gone wrong on Long Island.

This should have been an impeachment followed by a disbarment. What an awful person.

Honestly.. 500 rounds sounds like a lot but it really isn’t.

Nypost aside, how the fuck is this reasonable? This is a mass shooting waiting to happen.

I'm going shooting this weekend with 2 friends for about 4 hours. we need 3 500 round buckets for those 3 hours. this is not a lot of ammo. this is not a big deal.

Well... If you are going to release people with box cutters, subway pushers, robbers, assaults, you have to release people with a rifle.

This is no longer justice for all, this is justice based on your identity.

Funny how you can spot a Post headline a mile off.

This one must have really confused the post. ‘NYC liberals letting crime getting out of hand!!!! But wait!! Gun rights being infringed upon!?!? What do we do!!!’

Velardo, 22, was hit with criminal weapons charges after he was arrested with a Tires American Tactical .22 rifle, an extended magazine and 500 rounds of ammunition in the trunk of his car, according to court records.

I fail to see the problem here

This sub has turned into a NY Post newsfeed. If I wanted to read all their articles, I would just go to their website. What a waste.

Shouldn’t New York post readers love this since they love firearms?

While she is a piece of trash and should be disbarred, the guy had a .22 caliber rifle, which, while it can be deadly if you shoot someone in the head at close range, it's no AR-15 or any other "assault rifle", it's largely a "varmit gun" used to kill small animals. When most people that know nothing about guns hear "rifle" they think of military grade weapons instead of the various other types of rifles.

For the sake of comparison the one on the left is a .22LR round, the one on the right is either a .223 or 5.56×45mm, as you can clearly tell, one has a lot more gun powder than the other and a bigger piece of lead.

That being said, if the dude didn't have a permit, his ass should be fined/jailed/gun taken away.
