The post is full of shit. First off he’s not a double dipper because he retired under a pension he already earned for many years of service. Now he has a new job. What’s next saying people who get Social Security retirement benefits shouldn’t be able to return to work?

Nonsense headline with a clear agenda.

Most Americans no longer get pensions. Most Americans that still get pensions, have to wait until a defined retirement age to start collecting.

The military, police, and firefighters are often an exception where someone can collect a pension immediately on separation with sufficient years of service regardless of age.

Obviously that’s not this guy’s fault or something that should be changed just for him. But it’s based on outdated notions of the (non) employability of people leaving these professions and should be revisited generally.

All of this is legal but also demonstrated why there needed to be changes to ensure everyone eligible could receive decent pensions.

Having said that, while I don’t know this man’s personal beliefs, in general the same people making $$$$$ thanks to public pensions are also the first to complain about NY taxes. Just come talk to a cop or firefighter on Staten Island and you’ll see the cognitive dissonance is astounding.

I mean there’s a reason the fire departments of cities such as NY and Boston have a three year waiting list.

Can we talk about a $278K pension for a civil servant? That’s outrageous.

The fact these collective bargaining negotiations didn’t include some reasonable cap for pensions is ridiculous.

I see that the people who believe in Resentment are out in force tonight. They are losers who couldn't ever get a job or build a successful business that could give them that kind of income. Sore losers resenting success.
