So, we were told that if we defunded the police we'd have anarchy. So we didn't.

And now shit like this - at some point do the cops get a finger pointed at them for shoddy policing?

I must have Internet-brain because my first reading of the headline was "Eric Adams Reacts!" like it's a YouTube series.

I'm simply not buying that more militarization of cops will solve anything.

Did the cops show up? How long did this go on for?

So I know this sub likes to overreact and act like this is the beginning of the end. With that being said they're going to make an example of these dudes cause the video went viral. Also cause I'm Gen X i can't help but se this as self snitching cause millennials and Gen Z keep uploading videos of themselves doing dumb shit and then you get caught.

Like the video of those idiots picking up the cash on the highway with their faces completely uncovered.....dummies.

His vow to take action is great but nothing will change. The people doing this will run or resist, someone will inevitably get hurt if the cops chase or I use force, people will then complain and brand the city as some type is ‘ist,’ and in turn the city will go back to letting this type of stuff slide. Maybe they’ll find some of them based on the video, but they won’t be able to track them from the fake temp tags they all use.

These people are well aware of this. Do any of them look the least bit worried about being caught??

Ah , life long New Yorker . When I was a kid , (45 years Ago ) they used to block traffic on the GCP (!!! ) to run drag races . There were big crowds in the streets to watch snd it took long enough that hot dog vendors would pull up . It’s nothing new really . I thought at the time it was great but I wasn’t sitting in the massive ( but short ) traffic jam . And they ran more than one race!

Lol, look guys…reading the comments…like they wanted an ESU team to fast rope in (incidentally the BQE is NYSP territory, not really NYPD) or have some detectives assigned to the case to go out and arrest them, but the thing is…none of this is actually a felony or anything. If they were all caught, nobody is going to prison or something. And it’s not because some light on crime DA thing either.

They’d get traffic tickets. If you’re lucky maybe one of them is drunk or they have some forged or stolen plates you can charge them for. Maybe they will be IDd…and then get tickets in the mail or something.

Ya it’s shitty and super annoying, So is the jerkoff who was blasting his radio on the street for 20 minutes a few sundays ago at 7am, but it’s not exactly Joker takes over Gotham City.

All I am seeing is 24 seconds of footage with no context. Do people think it's going to be hard catching these people? Every one of these dorks has probably posted this dumb shit on the gram.

Adams wasn't my first pick in the primary but I'm coming around to him.
