This sub will probably hate this, but I think this is great, especially after how anti-business De Blasio was.

Wallstreet is a large portion of NYC’s tax base, and it’s good that someone who understands the industry and can convince workers/ firms to stay is in a key post.

I am all for this , we need to make sure the city has someone who understands the finance side of the economy. It’s a huge portion. I did a decade of public service in New York now going into fintech (time to pay off student loans ) but one day I wanna go back into Public service.. so what we gonna write me off ? Also it’s NYC the tax base and a large part of talent will be from finance that just the reality of it even if it’s not ideal

Better him than some intersectional green new equitable justice du jour activist with theoretical marxism and cannabis degustation studies double major, I suppose. That’s actually what’s happening to your little brother up north, they chose to play the deblasio game instead of learning from your mistakes.

This administration is going to be the death of working class and poor people in this city. Literally.
