Bronx woman used obituaries to rob houses as people attended funerals
She would scan obituaries to find out when people would be attending funerals so she could break into their homes and steal valuables.
You know, years ago I went to a funeral and someone said that they asked someone to wait in the home of the deceased because of something like this. I really thought it was an extreme precaution. I guess not.
This is one of the oldest techniques used by crooks. It has been around since newspapers first published obituaries.
This has been going on for 50 years when I was 16 years old a neighbor’s dad died and I sat at house for them during service … it is so sad that people do this stuff just disgusting.
