SF mayor's brother seeks early release from 44-year prison sentence for murder, robbery
San Francisco Mayor London Breed's brother Napoleon Brown to seek early release after from 44-year sentence for murder and robbery.
Detail in the SF Chronicle's story:
Because the next district attorney will be selected by Breed rather than elected by voters, the appointment could create a conflict of interest and require the next district attorney recusal from the case. Voters will decide in November who finishes the term through November 2023.
Surprising that ABC7 investigative reporter Dan Noyes didn't mention this.
Wow I remember hearing about this years ago (when Breed was first elected?) - I hope this scumbag doesn't get released. I feel bad for the girlfriend he coerced and shoved out of a car into oncoming traffic:
> Brown was convicted in 2005 of murder in the killing of his 25-year-old girlfriend, Lenties White. Authorities said Brown pushed White from a car fleeing north across the Golden Gate Bridge in January 2000 following an armed robbery in which White was believed to be an accomplice. Authorities said the car stopped mid-span before White was ejected from the vehicle and fatally struck by an oncoming drunken driver.
Wait, so mayor breed lied to the police? Pretty sure that's illegal.
Court records show Breed told police, "When she arrived at her grandmother's house around midnight..." - the time of the robbery - "... defendant was asleep on the couch."
I don't believe politicians should use their power for special favors. He would be getting special privileges because he's her brother and it's unfair.
Is it possible to get SF leaders who maybe DON’T have a murderer in their immediate family? 🤔
What's the point of being a corrupt politician if you can't bend the rules for your own family? Geez!
What a poorly written article. I suppose they carjacked a car with the driver in it? I had to read it 3 times over to put that together.
It's very disturbing that Breed lied to investigators to cover for her brother.
The guy pushed his girlfriend out of their car into traffic on the Golden Gate bridge. As far as I'm concerned he should've got the chair, but life in prison seems fair too.
