Wow, that is sad. That must’ve been a huge tree branch. Be careful out there with all the soggy ground.

Those giant eucalyptuses in the panhandle looking sketch af right now.

I had a close call a few weeks ago early on in this storm system. Big ole branch came down about 15 feet in front of me. Had a bike helmet on, but it still would have been painful and probably knocked me out. Haven't been on the trails since then.

RIP
(She wasn’t jogging. She was elderly. The woman who found her was jogging.)

RIP. Drove in the park yesterday, there were numerous trees down. Big trees. Not a safe place right now. Sorry for this poor woman and her family.

Shit… New nightmare unveiled
I went to the ggp yesterday after the rain stopped and it was a mess.

Holy shit I was at 30th and jfk only a few hours earlier on Saturday . It was a mess . Was it actively raining/storming when she was out walking??

So sad. Important to remember GGP built on sand. Many of those trees are very old. Even on good soil, trees come down when the ground gets soaked. Especially pines.

Son of a gun
Watch out with these trees everyone. They are heavy af. Even try to avoid parking underneath them. Please be careful

Is it safe to walk in the Panhandle now, or should I wait?

That's awful.
For those that like to run in the park, jog in the middle of the street if/when possible (could buy you an extra second or two). Take off your earphones during the winter as grounds are saturated (easier to hear trees cracking)
