Mission Moves: Metered parking may come to northeast Mission

Think finding a parking spot east of Capp Street is tough? The city thinks a new parking plan, including metered spots and permits, could help.

Parts of this are pretty fucked. There are sections that would not only be changed to permit, but will be limited to 2 hours, EVEN IF YOU HAVE A PERMIT. Sooooo many people who live in the mission rely on all day street parking

There needs to be some way to allocate it and free parking is a colossal waste of urban space. You pay either way - for parking or in gas and your time. Some cities devote a third of land to the car which could be housing instead.

Good. You should have to rent public space to park your private auto.

There’s no such thing as free parking, this is just removing the subsidy from cars.
