Wow that's a family taken hostage. Brutal quote for an 11 year old to have to say. Hope SFPD is asked to make this a priority case

"I love the city, but the city is changing. Be careful. Be vigilant, if you have to wash your cars, do it with a neighbor."

This is absolutely tragic.

"SFPD continues to search for the suspects.”

...no they don't.

Why are we punishing poor people for property crimes? After all no one was seriously injured! /s

Send Chesa Boudin home to Chicago.

His theory of restorative justice only works when people want help and is proven wrong with repeat offenders.

Innocent people are left to be picked off by Chesa's clients.

Gosh. Reminds me of when this guy tried to harass a neighbor when she was getting in her car. The older man across the street took out his gun and chased the guy away. I remembered him always watching me learn how to skate n I was worried he was mad I made so much noise. One day he yelled hey! You’re getting pretty good at that. Rip neighbor. Gonna need more people like you for me to feel safe now :(

Quite scary to feel that you're not safe in your own home. That is why I'm pro second amendment. We should be able to protect our home and our families from these criminals.

How is the petition for Boudin? I'm literally so sick of this already and it's so disheartening to see my beloved city burning down in flames :/

There is a common element in every single one of these stories: the prowling/getaway car.

We need license plate readers, we need a system that flags mismatched/stolen/missing plates, we need to pull over cars with excessively tinted windows and with missing plates, we need a tracking camera network that can follow these cars as they're fleeing, and possibly even flag them for "prowling" behavior before the incident happens (surveillance video saw these guys' car circling the block four times before they found a target.)

Guns are too small and easy to hide but cars are big, loud, and obvious. We can stop this, and the getaway car is the key.

This type of shit is what turns people into Trump voters. The progressives in SF are playing with fire if they don't get this shit to stop.

This is what happens when you take away basic rights of self protection of law abiding citizens. Now I understand why republicans want to keep their fire arm. Not only from government tyranny but also criminals. This is what happens when you take away guns from law abiding citizens and all you have left is criminals that get their guns illegally, and abuse them and know that they won't suffer any serious consequences. If there were an instance or two where a victim shot back, those criminals would think twice before doing anything.

And aside from that I don't understand how the city is so light on their crime laws, like what are they waiting for? Is it a fuck you from them for being defunded? I don't blame them, but something needs to change, like installing neighborhood guards, or people start collectively organizing some kind of watch program.

I promise you those schmucks are nothing but a bunch cowards, if we start coming together as a community and fighting back they will quickly run away.

I already see the Bernie Bros talking about how this is "expected" because apparently by working in tech and making a living productively we are exploiting people and they are forced to rob us.

Man, fuck San Francisco. I need to leave this subreddit. Its just fucking depressing. My car was broken into so many times in 2018 because I parked on the street. After I paid for an absurdly expensive parking spot my belongings were safe, but then a friend who lives on the ground floor was robbed. Basically living in SF you are taxed by other means constantly. Either the thieves or the city regulations. They basically fuck you over.

I just moved to a suburb of Sacramento. People just leave you the fuck alone to do your job. God damn paradise.

But I miss SF sometimes. I wish my homies would move out to the suburbs too.

do I even have to watch the video to know the races of the victim and the perpetrator?

or can we finally admit there is a problem?

I think this is just misunderstanding.. They kids were just offering to help 'wash' the car, and payment was all the jewelry in the house. I bet by the time they came out, the car was dry.

That would be the Public Def + DA take on it... if they were caught.

(this is sarcasm people) and attempt to make humor of a serious event that impacts the residents of SF.
