BART passenger tethered to dog dies after being dragged onto tracks
A BART passenger who was tethered to her dog was dragged and killed on Monday after a train departing the Powell Street Station began moving with the dog inside and the woman having just stepped onto the platform, transit officials said Tuesday. ...
Aren't dogs supposed to travel in an enclosed carrier on BART?
Sorry for the lady and sorry for everyone that had to witness the scene. Kinda surprise the dog did not get hurth.
Something tells me there might have been a failure on the part of the engineer/driver for not seeing this. They’re required to remain at their window and looking back down the track as the train is exiting the platform for this exact reason (AND why you should never stand in the yellow zone at the platform edge so they have a clear view). Either they somehow missed this or were negligent and didn’t look back is up for debate (I believe that DOT is investigating).
Either way, god, what a terrible thing to witness or have happen to anyone.
