Ontario just days from COVID-19 case surge similar to Kingston, expert says

Indoor and outdoor gatherings in the city of Kingston, Ont., will be limited to five people as of 6 p.m. ET Monday as the omicron variant drives a surge of COVID-19 in the region, while a local expert says the province will soon see a similar increase in cases.

So here's what will happen, calling it now.
Restrictions on private gatherings. More restrictions for small businesses and restaurants. Schools close, parents told to fuck off and work while also supervising their child while they remote learn. Oh, but here's $200, take it and shut up!
Sold out Leafs/Raps games still happen with no restrictions aside from proof of vax. Concerts and other large events happen with no restrictions aside from proof of vax. Big box stores see no restrictions whatsoever.
Ford will not do anything to hurt big businesses and we're all fully aware of that by now. The average "folks" he claims to be for will be the ones again shouldering the brunt of this while he hides in his Muskoka mansion, likely with more people than whatever gathering limit he pushes on the public. And you can bet his anti-vaxx daughter and her anti-vaxx blue lives matter husband will be there!

Im dreading another wave of this.
To all the people bitching about having to stay home safe with their kids feel free to come manage or work in an essential workplace.
I can say i have directly increased alcohol and cannabis sales for the past few waves and will definitely be blacking myself out for the next 4 months or until i get omicroned.
Essential workers going straight to hell on this one.

Perfect now we just need the market to drop 50% again so I can have a chance at life

What? Kingston is already in Ontario. Am I missing something? If Kingston has a surge then Ontario is already experiencing a surge and it's not upcoming. Is Kingston separating from Ontario? Is it Kingsit?

from the 3pm CMOH presser : A singe case of Omicron is infecting 4-8 times more people than the Delta variant.

"By this time next week, there's no question omicron will be the dominant variant," said Dr. Gerald Evans, an infectious disease specialist at Queen's University.
The surge is in Omicron's proportion of new cases, since the headline didn't want to specify that.

The same variant that, after weeks of hysteria, had only killed one person in the UK?

So at what point do we just have everyone get their boosters and let this thing go, completely?
