Just last week, while greeting my disembarking passengers, this guy mutters as he walks past, "So we've got chinks flying planes now." In hindsight I should have gotten his info and barred him from ever flying with us again, but I was honestly just too stunned at the blatant racism to do anything.
His wife/girlfriend give me the most shameful look as she walked pass behind him. Just mind boggling how racism was able to bubbled back up to the surface like this in the past couple of years.

Being an asian female. MANY MANY MANY folks would pick on us because they know we're quiet and docile by culture. Little do they know there's no visual difference between a new immigrated asian female and a Canadian raised female. So when I hear any racism towards me and I respond back, 150% of the time they're stunned because they were expecting me to stay quiet and just take the verbal hit.
Not only do they scurry away in fear but i like to make them known that they were being racist and repeating what they said to me out loud so the crowd can see them try to run away. There are time to stay quiet and just let it be... but there are times where you've just had enough and need to let them know we're not to be picked on.

White folks are not a majority in Toronto now. Important to recognize that. A significant majority of patrons at any business in a place like Brampton or Scarborough or Markham will be non-white.

Plenty of racists in Canada. In my limited experience they seem to come from all racial backgrounds.

My girlfriend is Korean and she was told to go back to China three times in the last two years. At the bank a kid kicked her and told her to go back to Chinatown.

But why? What's the problem with Asians? Never in my life have I felt "not sure what's going on here, but it must be because of ASIANS!!"

This is so sad, this shit needs to stop. Besides the obvious point that these are all human beings like everyone else, Asian people have been a part of Canada for generations.

Reports by South Asian and Southeast Asian people also increased dramatically compared to 2020, by 318 per cent and 121 per cent respectively.
Kennes Lin, the anti-Asian racism adviser for CCNCTO, told the Star the uptick in reports by South Asian and Southeast Asian people directly relates to their overrepresentation in underpaid, overworked “essential” jobs during the pandemic, which makes them hyper-visible and often the target of abuse.
As to who is committing these acts of anti-Asian racism, nearly 75 per cent of reported incidents identified the perpetrators as men and white.

Reminder that being critical of Chinese Communist Party (Chinese government) is not the same as Anti-Asian racism. As much as CCP wants to marry the things together, they are mutually exclusive. There's lots of shills that like to put it together to shut down criticism of CCP, spot the difference, call out Anti-Asian racism.

If you're Asian man in today's online dating world, you've experienced plenty of racism.

As an first generation Asian-Canadian, growing up in a pretty multicultural area the only (overt and blatant) racism I’ve experienced was from black people.

As a first generation Asian male I am very conflicted by this uptick in Asian hate crimes. I’ve generally refrained from protesting and asking people to #stopasianhate because honestly I feel like it would be hypocritical of me. I know that Asian people as a whole (mostly older asians) are prejudice. I’ve heard me own family say such things where I’m like wtf and brush it off as old school mentality that’s outdated an absolutely wrong. I’ve seen how some Chinese restaurants treat other black customers and I hate it. Violence against anyone based on race is wrong. I will never advocate for other people to stop Asian hate before I advocate for my own people to stop our own prejudices. I definitely don’t think asians or anyone deserves the hate they get. I’m just saying I would rather have a conversation with my own people first and ask us to knock it off before I can ask others to treat me the same way I want to be treated. The biggest difference between racism against asians and Asians being racists is the level of violence. For the most part, racists asians have an inner dialogue and have shitty prejudices against other people but rarely if ever are we racist enough to try and hurt someone physically based on that. The violence against asians is what’s shocking.
Anyways not sure if this made any sense. Wrote this while waiting for my lunch.

Not hard to believe when the last few years, every media outlet has portrayed the CCP as the bad guys whether it's about COVID or the large influx of cashflow from Chinese money laundering, or as foreign investment into real estate.
It's not hard for someone to associate the CCP to actual Chinese people reading these news, not too dissimilar to how some are grouping Russians with Putin.
I don't have an answer for how to solve this, but as a Chinese-Canadians, sometimes I feel like I should be hating my fellow Chinese people too reading various news.

Hmm. I am an Asian man living in Barrie for many years but I have never witnessed any noticeable racist till now. I surely don’t know what the white people think of us inside their mind…
