According to the article from the Toronto Star, it appeared to have happened on Tremont Crescent, a quiet residential street which has no sidewalks at all on either side.

Ouch! 30k/​h zone, brutal!

It's actually not her fault or the truck guy. The thing was barely moving like always. I must have seen this hundreds of times on Chinese CCTV footage, the big truck just swallows whoever is beside it, pedestrian, scooter or cyclist even though they seem a safe enough distance and going at super slow speed, like 10k/​h. No way I would ever be less than a few metres beside one. You calculate if u fall sideways your head would not touch the wheel and that's the safe distance
