New outdoor space to smoke cannabis opens on Exhibition Place grounds

A new outdoor space where people can smoke cannabis is being touted as one of the first of its kind in the province. Cannabis Carnival, located on the Exhibition Place grounds, could be the first of many such sites to open, business experts say.

It's mostly beneficial for the consumer of cannabis, who, even though we've had legalization, was kind of forced to consume behind the dumpster
What? Who was going behind the dumpster? This whole idea sounds like something these guys came up with when they got high.

I thought you could just smoke anywhere outside as long as there is no rule saying not to smoke.

Just go to a park. What is this tacky consumerist shit lol

"I think cannabis smokers in general need a safe, responsible place to smoke when they go out," Starkovski told CBC News.
Yeah. Vapor Lounge? Hot Box Cafe? Planet Paradise?
This try-hard spot reeks of corporate half-wits.

But I still can't crack open a cooler outside without getting a ticket 😒

I'm all for this if they don't try to gouge or charge admission. The negativity in the comments is brutal here. It's a great idea!

Except for the places near schools, hospitals, sports fields, etc, all outdoor space is space to smoke cannabis.

All the people complaining about this are the same people complaining about smelling weed in public or in parks. Some people are just impossible.

I’m sure people will be lining up to smoke in this designated area, I’ve never felt comfortable being high around normal sized cupcakes so this is just fantastic.
In all honesty they probably installed it for tourists who don’t know what is going on. The cannabis stores need pamphlets or something outlining what to do and where to do it.

Considering Zlatko is involved, I'm surprised there isn't a designated area to do cocaine and get shot.

At Grand Bizarre, customers can swim, eat, drink, mingle and now, if they fancy, stroll around the corner and smoke cannabis in a restricted area.
Cannabis Carnival is being touted as one of the first of its kind in Ontario — a dedicated place to smoke cannabis that its president, Zlatko Starkovski, says is in line with the Smoke Free Ontario Act.
"I think cannabis smokers in general need a safe, responsible place to smoke when they go out," Starkovski told CBC News.
