Toronto General Hospital under 'critical care bed alert,' says ICUs at full capacity

A Toronto hospital says it is under what it calls a "critical care bed alert," which means its three intensive care units are at full capacity due to staffing shortages.

I'm becoming increasingly pissed off at the people who didn't vote because "they're all equally bad".

Neither Delduca or Horwath would be at their cottage ignoring this, despite how you feel about them.

So we can't give a salary increase to nurses but we try to bring in nurses from other countries and probably pay them less.

Conservatives love to rip Feds apart for bringing in immigration causing lower wages ... but if it is the OPC doing it with the nurses ... crickets

Can we all just bring our licence plate sticker refunds when we go to hospital to opt back in to proper public healthcare?

When ford makes an announcement to push his privatization of healthcare plan, I HOPE you people will see through it and give him hell.

They've been slashing the public Healthcare system for YEARS and putting it in a chokehold to further this agenda but at the end of the day privatization is a death sentence to anybody who isn't RICH.

As Canadians we've heard the horror stories from America for YEARS, how they have to cross the border to even be able to afford an inhaler, if you're lower middle class. Forget being able to afford needing to stay over night at a hospital if you're poor.

Don't let them trick you into thinking privatization is a solution, ITS NOT.

The government has more lobbying power than any individual corporation, they set the price for medical equipment and supplies for the country you(a manufacturer) either agree or you can't operate here. Private hospitals don't have that reach.

This has been going on for some time. We used to get an internal alert a few times each week when we were assisting them with switching to a new EMR during the past few months.

Promise delivered. Ford did campaign on ending hallway medicine in 2018. He just didn’t say the hospitals closing was how he was going to do it.

This is what happens when you treat nurses like garbage Doug Ford. And thank you to all the Ontarians who voted for this. I hope you are enjoying your healthcare. Just wait til school starts. He will find a way to screw up education too. He is handy like that.
