A 19-year-old Brampton man was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant for firearm related offences in relation to the Dimarjio Jenkins homicide investigation.
The man was a youth at the time of the incident in 2020, Peel police stated. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the individual is protected.
Jenkins, the 21-year-old Toronto rapper known as Houdini, was shot near King Street West and Peter Street on the afternoon of May 25, 2020.
Police had said it was likely Jenkins was targeted.
In June 2021, police said they arrested three people in connection with the crime and three others were being sought.
Last week, officers investigated a vehicle in the area of Eglinton Avenue East and Dixie Road in Mississauga, police said in a statement. “As a result of the investigation, two firearms were located in the vehicle.”
Police said it was later learned that the 19-year-old male in the vehicle was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant. He was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton, police said.
