Congestion in the downtown core increased this summer particularly on weekends due to events like concerts, with construction also contributing, Metrolinx said.

Worsening traffic in Toronto’s downtown core has forced GO buses to drop passengers off in suburban GO train stations, because it would take too long to drive into or out of Union Station — a situation likely to get worse once the building of large-scale transit projects starts.
“The decision was made to avoid longer delays for passengers caused by buses attempting to get into and out of the downtown core amidst traffic, and add greater certainty for passengers’ commutes,” Aikins added.
The traffic is so bad they're giving up and dropping people off to finish by train.
