Well that’s something. Condolences to her family.
What happens if she wins the riding on Monday? Bye-election or would they give the seat to the runner-up?

"Toronto city councillor Cynthia Lai has died, her campaign announced Friday.
One of four new faces elected to serve in 2018, Lai was a successful realtor for many years before winning Ward 23 Scarborough North. Lai was running again in the ward in this election.
The family has asked for privacy and no further comment will be provided."

So how does this work, when an incumbent dies during an election after advanced polls?
Does it go to a by-election for a new councillor?

Looks fairly young, pretty sad. Wonder why they don’t disclose her age.
