One man is dead and two others have life-threatening injuries after a blaze at a midrise building in downtown Toronto, firefighters say.

The CBC is being deliberately vague (because of the stigma), but the building in question is Fred Victor's Supports to Daily Living at 319 Dundas Street East. It's a terrible time of year for this to happen.

That all is assuming everything is to code and there were no accelerants.
