It's been 5 years since the bread price-fixing probe started. We still don't have any answers

The Competition Bureau is still investigating Canada's infamous bread price-fixing scheme — almost five-and-a-half years after launching the probe in 2017.

We won't. They made massive amounts in profits and paid out a tiny bit in gift cards if you were lucky enough to get one. That's all that going to come of it.

Loblaws: I'm going to give you all a $25 giftcard for you to fuck off.

And people still try to defend Loblaws these days as only increasing prices due to inflation. As if we didn't already have proof of their price gouging.

Imagine a world where PostMedia went after Galen on a daily basis, akin to how they go after Trudeau. I think JT is a douche, but it always cracks me up whenever I see PostMedia headlines in my Flipboard feed.

Why is Galen still making commercials?
Isn't someone in the marketing department brave enough to tell him that he comes across as smug and tone deaf?

its getting really expensive eating 5 servings of bread and grain a day.

Thank you for reminding us all that bread ( bet this applies to other industries as well) price fixing happened.
Now they are gouging consumers in every category. How do you explain record profits during these difficult times for people.

He’s sure fucking everyone over hard for it now though.

It's now expanded from bread to pretty much everything they sell. Apparently Galen saw how easily he could get away with it.

We need to open up this country to grocery chains from the US. Stimulate the competition.. force Galen and his sweet sweater vests to drop prices Same can be said for telecom ...

I know this isn't a solution for the majority of people out there but I bake my own bread.
It's a lot better than the mass produced bread at the store and you can make it for under a dollar a loaf.
